WAITING FOR GAUGUIN

I don't know why, but I never took any photos of the sets I painted for the theatre. At first you're excited with all the space/walls/props you have to work with, with total creative freedom. Then when you realize you're doing it mostly if not totally on your own, you freak out over all the space/walls/props you have to work with, with total creative freedom.

SPONTANEOUS MURAL

It was a single-line drawing that I liked at the time. Prolly shoulda asked Ma before I forcefully (masked as an Xmas present, I think) painted it on the wall of the downstairs bathroom at their place. I say Ma because Pa couldn't give a rip. Kids get away with anything, even when they're 22.  It's still there....

3 months and some real anal retention. Or hence...

No primer, and the expensive paint I bought didn't work any better. Just a stubborn surface. Navy blue acrylic house paint, no masking 'cept for the long straight lines. A friend told me, "man up and just do it." And that was that. Best and only advice really.
